04.25.06

Are you ready? As you all know, the band has gone through an evolution in the past few months. With the transitions, the band has been determined to keep it's core sound, while expanding upon it, delivering something even more powerful than ever before. With new songs on the horizon and a crisper tighter guitar core, the band is definitely coming back out swinging, delivering an in-your-face, unstoppable wall of sound, aggression, and melodies that will leave you demanding more Curse Icon. The band is adimate about delivering our fans what they deserve. As such, Curse Icon is bigger, badder, and better than ever before, and you will find it was well worth the wait. The question is... are you ready?

At the center of the new guitar core is Curse Icon's guitar players, Jason O'Daniel and Se7eN. The band has searched long and hard to find the formula that will catapult us to the top. We have finally found just that in our 2 amazing guitar players. Recently relocating from North Carolina, Se7eN brings a melodic presence and assertive attack to the bands guitar sound, while Jason O'Daniel's thick, aggressive guitar attitude will kick you in the chest. Together, they fuse their dynamic playing into Curse Icon's huge guitar sound.

With the advent of the new guitar core, Kiana delivers more of what you love. While retaining the beautiful vocal tones that send shivers up your spine, the new songs are served up with a little more attitude - both in the lyrics, and the hooky melodies that you've come to expect from Curse Icon. All of what you've come to love, plus something more.

Curse Icon is inspired by an influx of new songs, ideas, and renewed strength within the band. With the revived energy and confidence in the guitar core, the band has finally settled into it's writing niche. With awesome, new ideas sprouting everyday, look froward to the band delivering new material, more often, because that's what you crave... more Curse Icon! Like everything else, the songs you have come to love are still a big part of who we are, and they are tighter, thicker, and more powerful than before. Although there is a lot of new material on the horizon, we will still be playing your favorite Curse Icon songs in our future shows. The question is... are you ready?

11.22.04

There is a lot of buzz in the Curse Icon Camp due some exciting new opportunities, an ever growing national and international fan base, new Street Icon incentives programs, and a new vigor within the band that comes along with sharing our music with more and more people.

There is a lot of buzz because every band has a story of how they rose to the top. In our story there have been shifts of talent in the guitar position, in an effort to find the right chemistry to move the music and the band forward. Curse Icon has shifted into high gear by introducing Eric Bernard into the band. After an introduction to music at the height of the metal scene, Eric quickly embraced his instrument and progressively honed his skills into his present eclectic style. The band is extremely exciting about crafting new material and invigorating the music in the traditional Curse Icon style.

There is a lot of buzz because Curse Icon won a slot in this year's in the Buzz Bake Sale Battle of the Bands. Competing against 6 other bands, Curse Icon secured a spot in the line-up. The Buzz Bake Sale is sponsored by htttp://link.com and Curse Icon will be opening for such acts as Sevendust and Korn. This is an exciting opportunity for the band because there will be 1,000's of people attending and an opportunity to gain national exposure. You can purchase tickets for the Bake Sale here, or catch us at an upcoming local show (check schedule page for details). Who knows, this may be one of your last opportunities to see the band in a smaller, more intimate setting.

There is a lot of buzz because having just completed shows throughout Florida, the Street Icons – Curse Icon's official Street Team, is growing in strength. There are some exciting new ideas and incentives being created, including give-aways and much more. If you are interested in becoming a Street Icon please e-mail us for details.

With all the buzz going on, the band is moving forward at a blistering pace. We are excited about the new opportunities that are ahead us. But as always, it's you the fans who we do this for. We can not do it without you! So thank you for the continued support and love. You are our inspiration and why we do this.

Curse Icon has shifted into high gear. Between completing a new song, a new CD, a new tattoo (Kiana branded herself an Icon for life) and spreading the word through promotion and performance, it's a wonder they have time to sleep. The band will debut their new song, "The Awakening", at The Culture Room on September 25th.

The date for Curse Icon's first studio release is quickly approaching! The band has chosen the title "paradismal" to capture the dark theme of the lyrics and music. It will include 10 tracks, 5 of which have not been heard unless you've been to a live performance. All the hard work and long hours at the Powerstation Recording Studio have been paying off, and the CD is sounding incredible.

Kiana –
" We chose the title to evoke a feeling of what the CD is all about. It's dark, seductive and haunting. A mix of tradgedy and redemption."
Marco has been doing a fantastic job designing the artwork for the album.

03.07.04

In the life span of a band rising to the top, there are always changes. Constantly growing and evolving, the band has taken yet another step forward while continuing to book, record, and drive to the top.

As some CI fans have heard, lead guitarist Armand has officially left the band to pursue other goals. After long hard introspection, he was faced with a life decision, and had to leave the band. Armand has been a big part of the band since day one, and nobody will forget all of the things he's done for Curse Icon. As an original founding member of the band, he will be surely missed. We thank him for sticking with us for so long, and for helping us make this transition as easy as possible. Curse Icon gives Armand our best wishes, and a big "good luck" from all of us.

With the final departure of our lead guitarist, Curse Icon was faced with a daunting task: to find a talented, and strong enough player to fill Armand's shoes. Luckily, several guitarists had immediately lined up for tryouts and we were able to find the right person quickly. We are pleased to introduce all our fans our new guitarist, D!!

D. had been friends with Armand and Marco for quite a while, and she's played music with them on past occasions. D. brings a striking new element to the band, and has already begun writing great new material with Curse Icon. With her comes a new charisma and musical chemistry hard to find in just any guitarist. There is a new, powerful vibe within the band that definetely comes out in live performance. This is the stepping stone that will catapult the band forward.

Sean–
"D. just plain rocks.. she has an awesome guitar sound, and definitely makes a kick-ass addition to Curse Icon."

Marco –
"When Armand told us he had to leave, something just kept telling me D. was going to be our new guitar player. And fate made it possible, and its really the best vibe the band's ever had."

Curse Icon is still very busy gigging and always ready to book a new show. The band still has local tri-county area shows coming up, as well as shows in Jacksonville and the Cross Roads Music Festival in Roanoke, Virginia. Thank you again Morrigan Entertainment! See all show details in our show schedule.

Some of the things mentioned in previous news posts are still in the works, including a DVD of live Curse Icon footage and the new Curse Icon CD. Until the new album is finished, we will still have our old demo for sale at shows. The band also has Curse Icon t-shirts for sale, so keep your eyes peeled for those. You can always check back here in the Curse Icon news section for updates on the new album and on the DVD.

02.12.04

With the new year, comes many new opportunities for Curse Icon. The band is keeping intensely busy writing and recording, booking local, state and out of state of gigs, preparing for the Cross Roads Music Festival in Roanoke, VA, building a "gig-swapping network" and street team at a local and national level.

The band has taken the month of from performing, due to it's intense schedule. They are diligently writing and tracking at Power Station Recording Studio with Rob Roy for an upcoming release due out by the end of spring. The band is planning on making the CD available on the web site, through online distributors, at shows, and hopefully through some local and regional chains. Curse Icon is also rooting though some live footage and planning on making a DVD available with plans on putting clips on the the site soon as well. There are also in-studio pics available in the photo section of the message board. Anyone interested in Power Station Recording Studio, contact them at 954-242-0128.

Kiana–
"We've been working extremely hard on every angle of our band business. We are totally expecting to hit hard this year on a regional and national level. It's a lot of long, hard hours."

Marco –
"zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

Sean–
"I'm really excited about recording and putting together a CD. We really want to get our music out there to the fans, and hopefully create some new ones, putting it out in front of as many people as possible."

In a effort to do just that, Curse Icon is currently expanding it's fan base. They have been working on booking several venues throughout Florida and out-of-state, with several things already booked and many more in the negotiation stages. Check the schedule for details.

One show currently booked is the Cross Roads Music Festival in Roanoke, Virginia - Saturday, May 8th. This is a charity event sponsored by the Rock of Roll Hall of Fame in Cleceland, OH and benefits the Ronald McDonald house. Accompanying this event, the band will be playing several other shows in the area and getting many great press coverage opportunities, including an on-air interviews and newspaper coverage.
What makes all this possible is the incredible work of our management at Morrigan Entertainment. Aine Morrigan is working hard to position the band as a force within the indie scene and ultimately on a national scope. Her unstoppable efforts in building a "gig-swapping network" nationwide has created opportunities throughout Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, New York, an California just to start. Anyone interested in this "gig-swapping network", please contact Aine Morrigan at Morrigan Entertainment.

Needless to say, there is a lot going on in the Curse Icon camp this coming year. We are paving a road to bring the live show and music to fans all over the country, and create an ever growing fan base. Curse Icon truly loves to perform and feels the music is never complete until we share it with you, the fans. All these opportunities have the band excited, management excited and we hope you are too! It's going to be a great year – the year of the ICON! please check the schedule for upcoming events and shows.
